Alice von Gotha is a painter based in Osaka. Fascinated by the drifts of the romantic 19th century, freak shows and cabinets of wonder, her creations naturally tend towards the representation of strange remains of possibly existing creatures or silent beings with faded colors. The series ‘Alice’s Cabinet of Curiosity’ illustrates the adventures of “Alice in Wonderland” in the form of a gloomy, allegedly scientific, certainly disturbed collection, where only a few rare ink drawings of the dreamlike creatures encountered by Alice had reached us.
